Lush 'Cosmetic Warrior' Fresh Face Mask Review

Hey guys!

I'm sorry I was sort of MIA last week, it was such a busy week with my work and personal life so I didn't have time to write but I'm back with a review.

The change from warm to cold (even freezing sometimes) weather has been hard on my skin that caused major breakouts prompting me to take a look at my skin care routine which has been working steadily during the warmer months but has not adjusted on the colder months. I decided to change up my skin care routine from being chemically filled to being more organic and visited a Lush store. Once at the store, I learned that the brand is offering varied products from moisturizers to facial cleansers and the ones that caught my eye are their fresh face masks. I was recommended by an employee to try out their Herbalism Facial Cleanser and Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask as they promise to help troubled skin. This post is my experience with Cosmetic Warrior...

Lush 'Magic Wand' Bubble Bar Review

Hey guys!

I have never considered myself a "Lushie" or those people who are addicted to products from Lush Cosmetics as I have never tried some of the products that made the brand famous, their bubble bars and bath bombs. I have tried some of their products like the Bubblegum Lip Scrub (review here) and Re-Tread Hair Conditioner (review here) but not their bath products so I was really curious and excited when I purchased this product.

Beauty Lemmings Vol. 2

Hey guys!

Here are some products that I have been eyeing for a while which I think is quite interesting as there are no makeup products but mostly skin care. Is it possible that I am content with my makeup collection? For now, I think!

Soap and Glory "Breakfast Scrub" - I have read great things about this scrub, with not only smelling yummy but also leaving the skin smooth and soft. This brand is available at Shoppers Drug Mart stores here in Canada with very limited variety sadly. I'm really hoping that I will find this product soon!

Lush "H'Swan Wen Hua" - Another product that I have read so much about in the blogosphere. I have been trying a few hair conditioners or moisturizers lately but have not found a product that I can label the "holy grail" status yet. Hopefully when I get to try this product it would give the nourishment my hair needs.

Marc Jacobs "Daisy" - I know I have said in the past that I don't like perfumes but when I was at a store once, one pushy sales associate just squirted this on me, I was going to have a b*tch fit but I actually liked the scent. lol.

Origins "Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask" - This product promises to improve skin by deeply unclogging pores. I have not read about this product that much, but I'm really curious about the "activated charcoal" ingredient that this has.

Butter London Nail Lacquers in "All Hail The Queen" and "Tart With The Heart" - I have been on a polish kick lately and have heard great things about the Butter London brand. When I went to the brand's website these shades have instantly caught my eye.

What products are you lusting after lately?

Recent Empties Vol. 1

I like seeing empties post because it shows what other people may or may not like and see their opinions on different products. The title says 'recent' because as much as I would like to do a monthly empties post, I don't finish a product that quickly.

So here are the products I've finished recently;

Organix Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner with Awapuhi Ginger - I have seen a lot of posts about the Organix with Moroccan Oil so I thought to give it a try but when I saw that the brand also has a shampoo and conditioner that repairs I thought that would suit me better. I like the shampoo because it makes my hair feel moisturized even on days that I don't use the conditioner. I've been growing out my hair and its dry at the ends so I like these two for keeping my ends healthy.

Nivea Gentle Toner - I bought this product a few months ago to go with my Neutrogena skincare routine to help remove any makeup that may have not been removed with my cleanser while still hydrating my skin. Unfortunately, I did not see any results from this product and concluded that this is an unnecessary step in my regimen.

I Love.... Strawberries and Milkshake Shower Gel - This is the first product that I tried from I Love Cosmetics and was pleased with the brand. I like that this shower gel does not have a strong scent but still smells sweet

Neutrogena Rapid Clear Night Lotion - I find that products with Retinol work better for my acne prone skin than products with Salicylic Acid. I have the full Rapid Clear Kit from Neutrogena and found that the products helped my skin become clear and smooth.

La Roche Posay Mela-D Dark Spot Corrector - Since my skin is getting better from acne, I have been using this product to help lighten acne scars and hyper pigmentation. I have noticed a considerable result with this product so when Shoppers had a 20 x points for the Mela-D Serum I purchased the product right away!

Lush Retread Hair Conditioner - I bought this about 4 months ago when my ends were really dehydrated. I saw that my ends have gotten a little better with this product but not enough for me to purchase this again.

E.L.F. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen - I love this eyeliner because not only is this really opaque but also lasts long. I have oily lids so some eyeliners smudge and transfer easily but the E.L.F. eyeliner does not.  Review and swatch here

Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Candle - a non beauty empty that I thought to share as well. I just love the smell of Sweet Pea so much that I have this scent in shower gel, lotion, body mist and anti-bac as well.

What products have you finished lately?

Lush Hottie Massage Bar Review

Today I would like to share with you a great product in helping sore muscles that I have recently discovered. I went to Lush one day searching for something that would help my body relax while because I have been feeling a little stressed lately. The friendly Lush employee suggested for me to try some bath bombs and bath melts but since I'm more of a shower person, I wanted a product that I can massage my body with. So when I was browsing through their selection, the Hottie Massage Bar caught my eye because of the ridges that the bar has.

Company Description: Hottie is our go-to bar for seriously sore muscles. It’s specifically molded with bumps to enhance your massage with extra pressure to really fire up your circulation. The rich jojoba oil and butter base melts onto the skin quickly to allow for a smooth, and sensual experience. We use vanilla absolute for its sweet, comforting aroma; it's also moisturizing for the skin and softening in combination with the shea and cocoa butters we blend in. And, for those who like it hot, spicy black pepper and ginger oils are warming, stimulating and help to release muscle tension… exactly what you need to get you going.

My Thoughts: First of all, I just love the scent of this bar! I'm normally not a fan of vanilla scented products but I think the mixture jojoba oil, shea and cocoa butter just make this smell so heavenly. Sometimes I like to be tough in massaging my body because I feel that really works in helping my body relax so I really liked the "bumps" this bar has. I think the bumps are like those metal massage balls that helped with my circulation. Since this is a very moisturizing bar, I mainly use this in the evening and have a good night sleep afterwards.

Have you tried any of Lush's massage bars? What is your favourite?

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

Hey guys!

Being a makeup novice I didn't know the importance of keeping my lips exfoliated and hydrated when I became obsessed with lipsticks. When I started wearing lipsticks on a daily basis, I would wear them by themselves then my lips became dry and chapped. Because of that, I started wearing lip balm underneath the lipstick and my lips got better but I noticed that the lipstick would not apply evenly. So one day when I was strolling in the mall and went inside a Lush store I started talking to one of their employees about my lip dilemma. The friendly employee suggested for me to try using a lip scrub as a prepped lip is important in achieving a great look with my lipstick!

So I bought their Bubblegum Lip Scrub and could not be happier with the purchase. I now know how important it is to exfoliate the lips once or twice a week so the dead skin would be removed and the balm I put on would be absorbed better by my lips.

So now on to the scrub! Lush Bubblegum is a bright pink scrub made mostly from sugar and really tastes like gum. I use it by taking some of the scrub with my finger and gently rubbing it on my lips. The scrub is edible so I just lick it once I'm done and put lip balm on. Having exfoliated and hydrated lips just feels so great, I'd have to say

Overall, this is a great product that will really help dry and chapped lips and I would suggest for you to try it out.
